For coaches or service providers, a funnel might look like this:

  1. TikTok/Instagram video leading to 
  2. Free resource (lead magnet), then 
  3. Email sequence to nurture and provide value, leads to
  4. Call booking or a low-ticket digital product purchase.

A funnel is simply a journey, a guided path toward your end goal (what marketers refer to as the bottom of the funnel, or BOF).

  1. Lead Magnet – A free resource your audience can’t resist (checklist, guide, training, anything that truly provides value).
  2. Landing Page + Email Capture – Collect their name and email in exchange for the resource.
  3. Follow-Up Sequence – A short series of emails that builds trust and invites them to the next step (like booking a call or checking out your digital product).

That’s it—simple, doable, and effective. (And yes, this can be done for free!)

Common Funnel Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Overcomplicating the tools – You don’t need five platforms or mile-long workflows to get started.
  2. Skipping the nurture step – Followers don’t buy instantly. They buy when they trust you, which is why the nurture sequence matters.
  3. Not connecting content to your funnel – Posting without a link or next step is a missed opportunity. Always test and make sure your funnel flows smoothly.
